Our Projects

Prince Rupert Gas Transmission Project (PRGTP)

The 2024 PRGT Road Upgrades project involved upgrading 18 km of resource roads, quarry development, and bridge installation in a 50-day construction window. Lemare’s scope included blasting and hauling 67,000m³ of aggregate from multiple quarries to support road improvements, all while working near fish-bearing streams and sensitive environmental features. The project was completed on time with zero safety or environmental incidents, maintaining a minimum of 30% local and Indigenous workforce. Lemare’s strong relationship with the Nisga’a Nation and reputation for efficient execution were key factors in meeting the project’s “Substantial Started” designation.

Glacier Creek Fish Habitat Offset Project

The Glacier Creek Fish Habitat Offset Project (GCFHOP) included a 17ha site with 6 new ponds to be constructed, along with interconnecting channels and an outlet channel connecting to the Bell-Irving-River. This site had approximately 150,000m³ of material to be excavated. The majority of excavations were up to 6m below the ground water table elevations, making this a challenging opportunity.

BCLJV implemented complex dewatering systems, along with sheet piling to execute this scope successfully. Large volumes of imported material were required from local sources for spawning gravels, riprap and other fish habitat features. This project was completed in the summer of 2023 and marked a major milestone for the KSM project. The project risks had to be managed carefully, as the location is in close proximity to the Bell-Irving-River. The quantity of water being released from site could have had major impacts on this environmentally sensitive area, and Lemare Qualified Environmental Professionals monitored and managed these aspects diligently.
