Anyox Power Company

Historic water dam at Anyox Hydro, a Boney Creek Development company—revitalized for clean energy storage in Nisga’a Traditional Territory, Northwest British Columbia
  • Anyox Hydro focuses on revitalizing clean energy infrastructure within Nisga’a Traditional Territory. Centred around the historic Anyox dam originally built in 1930 and abandoned in 1935, Anyox Hydro is being reimagined as a modern hydroelectric storage project that supports sustainable energy goals, regional economic development, and Indigenous-led innovation.

  • Anyox Hydro leads renewable energy initiatives that prioritize long-term value for both community and industry. The hydro storage project is supported by updated engineering, cost estimates, and ongoing design work to ensure it’s ready when the next energy procurement opportunity arises. These efforts are also integrated with broader clean energy development to meet growing demand from local mining and industrial projects.

    Anyox Hydro Storage Project

After engaging with the original project owners in 2023, Boney Creek completed a full engineering feasibility review and co-submitted a bid to BC Hydro’s 2024 Call for Power. While the bid was not selected due to price competition from wind and solar, the project remains technically and economically viable. Boney Creek continues to seek offtake agreements with BC Hydro and local industrial clients while refining the project fo future opportunities.

    Expanded Clean Energy Complex

The Anyox initiative now includes several neighboring developments:

    • Kitsault Hydro Storage Project

    • Homestake Run-of-River Project

    • Trout Creek Run-of-River Project

These additional sites are being scoped to enhance regional energy capacity and support critical minerals mining across the North Coast.
